Thursday, November 14, 2024 IHG signs agreement with Adyar Gate Hotels to launch InterContinental Kodaikanal Resort by 2028, expanding luxury hospitality in South India’s hill station. IHG® Hotels & Resorts has announced the signing of a management agreement with Adyar Gate Hotels to develop the InterContinental Kodaikanal Resort. Scheduled to open in 2028, this upcoming property marks a significant expansion of IHG’s luxury offerings in India.

The new resort will introduce the prestigious InterContinental brand to Kodaikanal, known for its scenic landscapes and colonial heritage. This project is part of IHG’s broader strategy to expand its luxury and lifestyle hotel portfolio across key leisure destinations in India. Kodaikanal, often referred to as the “Princess of Hills,” is a well-loved hill station in Tamil Nadu, perched at an altitude of 7,200 feet.



The town is renowned for its mild climate, breathtaking landscapes, and rich heritage, making it a favorite destination among both leisure and business travelers. The region attracts a large influx of visitors annually from Tamil Nadu and neighboring states like Karnataka, Telangana, and Maharashtra.
