Celebrity Idris Elba Idris Elba Just Fell Victim To The Controversial “Give Me My Money” TikTok Trend, And He Couldn’t Have Been Less Amused “He’s such a little brat sometimes," Isan Elba said of her famous dad. By by Stephanie Soteriou BuzzFeed Staff Posted 6 minutes ago Twitter Facebook Link In case you missed it, a controversial new trend is sweeping TikTok, and British actor Idris Elba is one of the latest victims. Matt Winkelmeyer / Getty Images For context, the trend involves a group of people taking turns saying an iteration of “Just give my money,” and each time, the rest of the group reacts by enthusiastically cheering and applauding.

However, the person who goes last in the group is unknowingly being pranked. After cheering on everybody else, they say their version of “Just give me my money” and start applauding, only for everybody else to remain completely silent. While most of the time the gag is completely lighthearted, this trend has faced scrutiny after some people started using it to trick and embarrass young children, which viewers deemed cruel.

But everybody could see the funny side when Idris Elba’s wife, Sabrina Elba, and daughter, Isan Elba, targeted the Hollywood actor when they took on the trend. Kevin Winter / Getty Images Taking to her popular TikTok account, Isan called her famous dad a “brat” as she joked that he “was already on his last straw” when they started filming the video. The short clip starts with Idris looking fed up while Sabrina and Isan tell him what he has to do.

“Remember, we have to clap her,” Sabrina says. “Really happy for her.” “Dad, you have to be supportive,” Isan echoes.

“You have to clap and jump and be really supportive.” As unimpressed as Idris looks, he does oblige, and when Isan and Sabrina deliver the lines, he obediently claps and cheers them. TikTok @isanelba / Via tiktok.

com He then takes his cue to say the line himself, albeit with little enthusiasm, and Isan and Sabrina struggle to hide their giggles as they try to remain deadpan. TikTok @IsanElba / Via tiktok.com After an awkward beat of silence, Idris then exclaims: “No clap?!” he then walks off-camera as he adds: “This is bullshit, I’m not doing it!” “He’s such a little brat sometimes 🤣” Isan joked in the post’s caption, and it’s perhaps unsurprising that the video quickly went viral — already racking up more than four million likes.

And in the comments, many people were tickled by Idris’s all-round lack of energy, with one person commenting: “He ain’t wanna be in the video to begin with 😭😭😭” @isanelba He’s such a little brat sometimes 🤣 #givememymoney ♬ original sound - Isan Elba TikTok @IsanElba / Via tiktok.com “The way he said give me my money is the funniest part. He didn’t even earn the claps fr 😭” somebody else joked, while one more echoed: “How he upset and he barely wanted to participate 😂😂🤭” And Idris isn’t the only celebrity to have fallen victim to the prank, with the Beckham family recently tricking Victoria Beckham with the trend — and she’d shown much more enthusiasm for it than Idris had.

In fact, the former Spice Girl got totally stuck in as she filmed the video with her husband, David Beckham , and their three kids, Romeo, Cruz, and Harper, and even clapped herself before realizing that the rest of her family had stayed silent.
