ID Genéve ’s latest timepiece offering, the Circular 1 “Nisiar” Limited Edition is created in collaboration with MONDIN , an independent company that specializes in valorizing vine by-products. One of the key highlights of this limited timepiece is its strap, which is crafted from raw 35% grape marc from Chateauneuf-du-Pape — a renowned region for cultivating wine in the Southern Rhône Valley, France. With this collaboration, the two companies also launched Nisiar as an initiative to continue manufacturing grape-based leather.

“Nisiar was born out of our desire to rethink how we use natural resources,” notes Rodolphe Mondin, the co-founder of Nisiar. Nisiar straps feature a composition of 75% natural material, boasting textile durability and resistance that is comparable to animal leather. “With Nisiar, we have not only found a material of exceptional quality but also an extremely precise traceability that allows us to trace the exact journey of the grape marc from Château de Beaucastel to the watch strap.

This transparency is the luxury of tomorrow,” says Cédric Mulhauser, co-founder of ID Genève. The timepiece is outfitted in a 41mm watch case that’s composed of 100% recycled stainless steel. This is paired with a Grenat dial in a sunray finish, exuding a deep red hue that’s reminiscent of red wine.

Adorning the dial are lume-filled steel indices and hands, with the ID logo added in place of the 12 o’clock hourmarker. Limited to 40 examples, the Circular 1 Grenat with Nisiar strap retails for 4,210 CHF ($4,923 USD). Head over to ID Genéve’s official website for more details.
