Sunday, February 2, 2025 Icelandair is set to operate flights to 19 destinations across the US and Canada in 2025, including the introduction of new routes to Miami and Nashville . This expansion marks a significant increase in daily transatlantic operations, with a record 25 daily departures from Keflavik International Airport. The airline’s first-ever Keflavik-Nashville flight will launch on April 10, 2025 , operating four times a week using a Boeing 737 MAX 8, benefiting from Icelandair’s new partnership with Southwest Airlines .

Meanwhile, the Miami route will commence on October 25, 2025 , operating three times per week on the Airbus A321LR . Other recent additions to the network include Baltimore, Detroit, Halifax, Pittsburgh, and Raleigh Durham , reinstating or expanding services to previously served destinations. Icelandair will deploy a strategic mix of year-round, summer, and winter seasonal flights to optimize efficiency.



The airline will operate up to 25 daily flights , surpassing its previous record of 23 daily flights to North America. Boston and Seattle will lead with a maximum triple-daily service , while New York JFK, Toronto, Chicago O’Hare, and Washington Dulles will operate twice daily . This strategic deployment of seasonal and high-demand routes allows Icelandair to balance load factors and improve yield management while maintaining year-round service to key destinations.

Despite the expansion, Icelandair has discontinued flights to several airport.
