Wednesday, November 13, 2024 The International Civil Aviation Organization ( ICAO ) concluded its landmark Global Facilitation Forum, held in Bogotá from October 21-23, 2024. Hosted by Colombia’s Aeronáutica Civil, the event brought together 200 aviation leaders from 42 nations and 15 international organizations to shape transformative initiatives for the future of air transport facilitation. Under the theme “Seamless Skies: Efficient Facilitation for a Connected World,” the forum celebrated ICAO’s 80th anniversary, the 75th anniversary of Annex 9 on Facilitation, and the centennial of Colombia’s Civil Aviation Authority.

The event was hailed as a cornerstone for advancing ICAO’s mission of enabling borderless and efficient air travel. “This forum united world experts and stakeholders to advance one of ICAO’s fundamental objectives: facilitating seamless and efficient air travel,” said ICAO Secretary General Juan Carlos Salazar. Key Topics and Milestones The three-day forum addressed critical aspects of aviation facilitation, including: The year 2024, designated by ICAO as the Year of Facilitation, provided a pivotal platform to strengthen regulatory foundations and enhance the efficiency and security of international air transport.



Colombia’s Leadership in Aviation During the forum’s opening ceremony, Colombian Deputy Minister of Infrastructure Jorge Enrique Ramírez and Civil Aviation Director Sergio París Mendoza underscored Colombia’s dedica.
