I've never been a fan of bodycon, tighter fitting dresses because I've always thought they didn't do much for my figure. As a girl with bigger hips, I often find myself getting a little self conscious with the design and the fit of tighter style dresses. I took a trip to the massive Next in the city centre on the hunt for a classy dress that would be suitable for a special occasion.

If I'm being honest, I picked this dress up and didn't really have high hopes at all, You can never really go wrong with a , and this was one of those perfect staple ones that you could whip out of your wardrobe in an emergency. The ruched detail on this was so flattering and the a-line design meant that it didn't cling to my tummy. The addition of the capped sleeves added a classy feel to it, and the material was incredibly soft against my skin.

On the Next website, the full product description reads: "This beautiful black A-Line dress in a maxi-length has elegant and flattering ruched detailing, made from a super soft jersey fabric with a flattering round neckline, great for special occasions or a night out." For the first time in years when looking in the mirror wearing a bodycon dress, I actually felt pretty confident. Of course, black is always considered a 'slimming' shade, but I think every little detail of this dress was so well thought out, and designed to flatter.

It fell elegantly, and wasn't too long for my 5'3 frame. I think I might've found one of my favourite bodycon dresses, and it deserves all the praise..
