To commemorate the decade-long-milestone in Aotearoa, the tech giant is giving its Uber One members the chance to ski (or snowboard) the stunning backcountry at Soho Basin, just an hour drive from Queenstown. For years, Soho Basin in New Zealand's Southern Alps has only been open for private bookings, for those who don't mind spending a pretty penny to ski amidst secluded, untouched mountain terrain.

But now the once-in-a-lifetime ski trip worth $2,000 is available to book for free. The day starts off at the Rodd & Gunn lodge in Queenstown, where you'll be picked up by a luxury transfer and taken to Soho Basin, a private ski field adjacent to Mount Cadrona. After some morning refreshments and a quick safety briefing, you'll be taken up the mountain via an Uber Snowcat (no chairlifts here).

The luxury day doesn't end there. Lunch on the snowfields includes a world class high-altitude fine-dining experience hosted by three-hatted restaurant Amisfield. Lunch is a rustic-style full of farm-to-table delights with free-flowing wine nestled in a secluded hut that boasts panoramic views of snowcapped mountains.

Forget the chairlift this experience calls for an Uber Snowcat Imagine a day of first tracks after first tracks This experience is aimed at intermediate to advanced skiers (there are no green runs here) think knee-deep powder. Securing a spot for the exclusive limited-time-only snowcat and dining experience will be possible through the Uber Eats app in New Zealand by entering your address as Queenstown and searching 'Uber One Exclusive Ski Experience'. Kicking off on Saturday, August 24th, the day event will run over three consecutive weekends, giving a select group of thrill-seekers exclusive access to untouched alpine terrain.

Each day is limited to just 20 guests, ensuring an intimate experience as participants explore the mountain's backcountry under the expert guidance of seasoned pros from the Soho Basin team. Making the experience even more bitter sweet is the news that this is Soho Basin's last year in operation, as Cardrona will be taking over the slopes and putting in chairlifts from 2025. - Since launching in New Zealand in 2014, more than 2 million Kiwis have used the Uber and Uber Eats app since its arrival in New Zealand, notching up 200 million trips across both platforms.
