Morrisons is another retailer which knows how to do Christmas – and if you're picking up a sandwich from their range, you know it's going to mean business. But how will they compare to Marks & Spencer's huge Christmas offering , and will there be any stand-outs which you 100% have to try for yourself? Morrisons has a whopping nine sandwiches on offer for 2024, with brand new ones like The Best Beef and Potato Sandwich and The Best Christmas Firecracker Wrap, as well as old favourites returning like Morrisons Christmas Lunch Wrap – there are plenty of offerings to get your hands on when you're next doing a food shop, or needing some festive lunch motivation. This year, Morrisons is making the holiday season even more special by donating 5% of sales from all its Morrisons Christmas sandwiches and wraps to its charity partner, Marie Curie as well, which I love to see.
With a name like Firecracker Chicken, I was expecting something seriously spicy - and with the promise of three chilis on the packaging, I was ready for my lunchtime to get seriously heated - especially because it even said 'hot' underneath it. But while this sandwich did not give me the level of heat I was craving, it did deliver softness, and major flavour. The nduja gave another level of taste sensation which packed a real punch, and although it wasn't particularly Christmassy, I can definitely get behind a sandwich like that.
