If you had to imagine somewhere that would be quite scary in the dark, then an abandoned theme park would surely be up there. Add in some live actors, around a dozen scare zones, and jump scares at every turn and you've got the makings of a horror event like no other this Halloween . It's the fifth year that Scare City has taken over the old Camelot attraction in Lancashire and this year's is bigger and scarier than ever.

It was nightfall as we arrived at the Chorley attraction after just a 45 minute drive from Manchester and the darkening sky only added to the anticipation among the group of teenagers I'd taken along for the spooky experience.
