The boy's parents did nothing (stock) (Image: Getty) A woman has revealed how she stood up to a child and gave him a plane journey he'll never forget. Taking to Threads to recount the story, jewellery designer Kitty Colvin wrote: "One time on a plane a kid [aged 6] was being absolutely awful kicking the seat in front of him." Kitty explained he was doing it so hard that the person in the seat had a flight attendant come over and have words with the mother .

She continued: "Her response was to give him an iPad at full volume. "The kicking became mindless instead of intentional but didn't stop. After about 20 minutes of screaming and bell sounds, the same passenger had the flight attendant come over again which did nothing.

She wrote: "He was kicking and throwing himself around having a little tantrum and the whole time all of this was happening both parents were kissing him all over his head and face to soothe him to absolutely no avail. Post by @bigbabyearrings View on Threads READ MORE: 'I had plane journey from hell thanks to unbelievably rude couple' "My partner had been napping in the middle seat of our aisle, but now is awakened to this huge child writhing and screeching on his dad's lap.

I stand it for about five minutes. My partner is staring into space wide-eyed trying to not freak out. "I, sitting in the window seat, lean over, pull my mask down, narrow my eyes into evil lil slits, and hear my mom's voice come out through my gritted teeth: 'You better knock.

it. off. RIGHT.

now'. I literally snarled. When I tell you that child looked as if he had never been spoken to like that in his whole life.

His eyes got huge, he shrank into a little ball on his dad's lap and stared at me all terrified for a minute then passed out completely." Delighted, Kitty and the rest of the passengers were able to enjoy a whole hour of peace and quiet while the boy slept, but as soon as he woke up the kicking and screaming started again. She went on: "I peeked out from my seat once more, threw him a malevolent glare, pulled down my mask, narrowed my eyes and just shook my head at him slowly, all but doing the finger/knife/throat gesture, and he snapped back into his seat and peeked around his mother's arm at me every so often and I would meet his gaze without moving my head.

One person commented: "I have frightened children into behaving in restaurants before by speaking to them directly, and telling them exactly what they need to stop doing and why. I'm not mean to them, but I am stern.

" Another added: "Gosh, I really wish I was there to witness this hilarity. I would have done the exact same thing, but I would have also been WAY aggressive in confronting the parents. I love a good fight.

I'll bet my life this kid is a freaking spoiled brat and has never heard the word 'NO'. The parents are at fault for allowing this behaviour to continue, especially in a confined space where you can't get away from it. No excuse.
