A POPULAR presenter has replaced Ireland AM star Deric Hartigan on air this week. The celebrity weatherman joined Katja Mia on the Six O'Clock Show this Monday and will be hosting the hit evening chat show for the next two weeks. This means that Deric has taken a break from his Ireland AM segments and won't be returning until Friday, August 2.

The Limerick man shared the news on social media earlier this week saying: "From breakfast to teatime TV! Moving to @sixoclockshow to anchor with Katja and crew for the next two weeks starting this Monday 22nd July. "So looking forward to the new challenge and the long lie in!!" Eric Roberts, who often appears on Ireland AM in different segments, is filling in for Deric this week. Alan Hughes introduced the Donegal native to viewers on Monday's show saying: "Now Deric's away this week so we called up a familiar face to lend a hand.

" Eric, who was reporting live from Sport Ireland Campus in Blanchardstown, said: "Deric is off this week, I'm stepping in. "I told him last year, when he interviewed me in Donegal, that I'd be taking his job someday and here we are. "I've big shoes to fill but I'm excited for the challenge.

" There's also been another presenter shake-up this week on Ireland AM as Muireann O'Connell's been missing on air. Muireann finished up work last Thursday and headed down to Kerry for a stunning weekend away . Muireann has not returned to work this week and has been enjoying some time off.
