M oving to a new part of the country is upheaval enough without having to think about what’s in your wardrobe. But your style is bound to change, as these three writers reveal. ‘Wellies and a puffer don’t cut it with the country set’ I remember, back in my early thirties, being invited to a shooting weekend at a grand house in Gloucestershire and getting very excited about dressing up for the black-tie dinner.

I packed a floor-length gown, Manolos and jewellery. The clothes for the daytime — well, I didn’t put too much thought into those. I just needed wellies, jeans and a puffer jacket.



Or so I thought. I’ll never forget coming down to breakfast on the Saturday and being confronted by a dining.
