Flip that on its head and nothing is more disappointing than a hot chocolate that isn’t, well, chocolatey enough. So, when I saw a TikTok user sharing a recipe for a hot chocolate made in a slow cooker, I was a little sceptical. I decided to try to make my own slow cooker hot chocolate to see if I could improve my usual method of making the hot drink at home (using the usual shop-bought powder mixes).

) There are plenty of videos online with lots of people giving the recipe a try but I decided to follow @tamingtwins’ version. 30g cocoa powder 1 litre whole milk 200g milk chocolate 300ml single cream 2tsp vanilla extract Marshmallows (optional) Chocolate sprinkles (optional) Most of the ingredients I used were the same as the recipe. Although, I used semi-skimmed milk by accident but it still tasted amazing.

I opted for Cadbury’s Bourneville cocoa powder, which I think might have added to the chocolatey goodness. The actual method in the video could’ve been more detailed but I managed to follow it easily enough. In fairness, the caption does say to find more information on the website but I only saw that now (oops!).

In the video, there are some chocolate sprinkles added alongside marshmallows in the slow cooker. I wasn’t sure what chocolate it was so I decided to crumble part of a Cadbury flake on the top. The re.
