Digital content creator Sugandh Sharma found herself in the eye of a controversy a massive outrage after she created an Instagram Reel on Bengaluru, where she can be heard saying that the Silicon Valley of India “would be empty if North Indians leave”. She added that all paying guest accommodations (PGs) and clubs would be deserted and people won’t no longer enjoy rental income without North Indians. She further said that all the “beautiful girls who dance to Punjabi music won’t be seen” in the city anymore.

After people bashed her on social media left and right for her remarks, she took a U-turn, stating that she “loves Bengaluru” and urged people to stop using her video to create a divide within the country. “I love Bengaluru. And to all those who are writing a lot of nasty comments on my funny, light-hearted comedy reels, feeling hurt, posting hate comments, or trying to spread a lot of hate by sharing my videos, I just want to say this: Look, I’m a traveller.

Wherever I go, I try to learn the culture of that place,” Sharma says in an Instagram video. ” Sharma further urged people to stop diving the country just like the Britishers did: “North, South, East, West – whatever part of India we come from, we’re all part of the same country. So, we are all one. I don’t want anyone watching my reels to try and create divisions.

We’re not colonisers; we are Indians.” Watch the video below: A post shared by Sugandh Sharma (@thesugandhsharma) How did people react to Sharma’s remarks on Bengaluru? Social media users voiced their opinions after Sharma said that the city would be empty if North Indians left. Shetty wrote, “Please leave,” in the comments section of the video, with a folded hands emoji. “If you can actually leave, just as an experiment, and see how Bangalore becomes empty, we are ready to live with that emptiness and dancers-less pubs. We can live with it.

Really. Forget all other North Indians. You leave ma’am, enough for now!” Achar commented.

Gowda wrote, “If you think this is cool, nope it isn’t. You need Bengaluru more than anything else and your leaving Bengaluru doesn’t make any difference to our OORU and for a fact, we all know you can’t leave Bengaluru – if you know you know.” A frustrated individual wrote, “Why don’t you please leave.

. we are eagerly waiting to see our Bengaluru without people who are not even grateful for the lifestyle they have got because of Bengaluru..
