The former One Direction singer, 31, died from injuries sustained after falling from the third floor balcony of his room at the CasaSur Hotel in Buenos Aires, Argentina, on Wednesday afternoon. Accounts soon emerged of Payne’s reported “erratic” behaviour in the hours leading up to his death, including that he smashed a laptop and had to be carried to his room while hotel management called 911 to report an “aggressive” male. When police arrived at the luxury hotel in the Palermo neighbourhood, Payne was found dead in the venue’s courtyard.

Now, a named witness has spoken to local media claiming to have seen the pop star arguing with two unnamed women in the hotel lobby just hours earlier. US man Michael Fleischmann, who lives in Argentina and said he was staying at the CasaSur Hotel with his mother, told Buenos Aires Herald he overheard Payne repeatedly telling the females, “I’ll give you $20,000 dollars just because I can. I have $55 million and I like to help people.

” Argentinian investigators confirmed on Thursday they were speaking to two women who were in Payne’s room in the hours leading up to his death. They asserted both parties “had already left the hotel when the incident occurred”.
