A SAVVY woman has shared the must-have gadget that gets aload of laundry dry in just two hours. The happy homemaker added that it didn't just dry clothes, but that it also prevented mould from growing in her home as well. So if you’re wanting a quick and easy way to dry your clothes without having to up your energy bills and turn the tumble dryer on, keep reading.

Taking to Facebook one woman shared the money-saving hack on the Mrs Hinch Cleaning Tips , a public group with a staggering 333,300 members. Anthea Little raved about the gadget she found called the Meaco dehumidifier to get her washing dry in speed time. She explained: “I posted about dehumidifiers for drying laundry and preventing black mould in our flat as I was in a dilemma about which to buy.

“Today we got our lovely little Meaco dehumidifier and I’m over the moon! “A full load of washing dry in two hours (usually takes two days and stinky!). “No condensation anywhere in the flat and it definitely warns the room up. “Happy, happy, happy and thanks for all your advice.

” Anthea later confirmed that she bought the DD8L dehumidifier, as she added: “I’m seriously impressed so far. “We got it from Curry’s in the end. No bargains but convenient delivery time for us from them.

“I had an airer full of clothes. Sheets hanging over another airer and two tracksuit tops on hangers. “I haven’t tried towels yet but I’m 100 per cent confident that they will dry super quick.

“The beauty of it is that it dehumidifies my whole flat and dries my washing at the same time. “I put it close to the washing but left all the inter leading doors open. Dry washing and no condensation on windows.

” DEALING with the British weather isn't ideal when it comes to trying to get clothes dry outside. But fear not, if it's raining then there are a few hacks you can try to get your laundry dry inside the house. Curtain poles If you put your clothes on hangers to dry, you can then hang the clothes from a curtain pole.

This is an effective hack, but it's important to make sure you've got a window open too, to promote ventilation and avoid a build up of mould. Airers There are a whole host of airers on the market, but the popularity of heated airers have risen dramatically in recent months. Many people swear by using a heated airer to get clothes dry quickly and evenly, without racking up loads on the energy bill by using a tumble dryer.

Dehumidifiers While the main point of a dehumidifier is, as the name suggests, to reduce humidity in the room, they also work a treat to get clothes dry. In fact, many of the little machines have a laundry setting on them. And once again, using a dehumidifier won't break the bank either, as they're very energy efficient.

Radiator cocoon If you've got your heating on, then creating a cocoon with a fitted sheet and your radiator can be a game changer. Simply place one end of the fitted sheet over the radiator, and place the other end so it's entirely engulfing the airer. This will dry your clothes quicker, by keeping the hot air inside the cocoon, rather than letting it all escape.

Spin it The majority of washing machine cycles end with a spin, but you can always give your laundry an extra spin before taking it out, to remove as much moisture as possible before you hang it up. It's a hack that loads of people swear by when it comes to drying clothes inside. Anthea’s post has clearly left many impressed, as it has quickly amassed 169 likes and 81 comments.

Many social media users took to the comments to share their thoughts on the Meaco dehumidifier. One person said: “Loved my Meaco, washing dries so quick, not used tumble dryer since purchasing it last year.” Another added: “It really is a gamechanger.

” A third commented: “Isn't it amazing!? I have just purchased one. I used it to dry my washing and it's incredible!” Whilst someone else wrote: “I have the 25ltr Meaco latest version I can’t believe I’ve gone all this time without one. “Washing drying time is anything from two-six hours so much more economical than a tumble dryer.

The Meaco costs 9p per hour to run so it’s a no-brainer.” At the same time, another Facebook user claimed: “[It] has to [have a laundry mode button] to dry clothes.” If you fancy getting your hands on a Meaco dehumidifier, you nab one from a range of high-street stores.

It is available from Argos and can also be bought for £149.99 from John Lewis. Chris Michael, managing director of Meaco , leading UK air treatment specialist, explained that while dehumidifiers can be great to dry your clothes, they can also be beneficial to reducing mould inside your home too.

To understand how to combat mould appearing and spreading, it’s crucial to understand why it appears and what contributes to its growth. Drying laundry naturally indoors on airers will increase the moisture in the air, which needs to go somewhere. As a result, a dehumidifier is a great option to help reduce the humidity levels at home.

While there is an initial cost, many dehumidifiers are highly energy-efficient, some costing as little as 4p per hour to run. Using a dehumidifier to dry laundry is more cost-effective than a tumble dryer, which generally costs over £1 per load. Some dehumidifiers also offer further benefits with built-in air purifiers, providing added value.

In the long run, the energy efficiency of a dehumidifier can save households hundreds of pounds per year by reducing moisture levels. Fabulous will pay for your exclusive stories. Just email: fabulousdigital@the-sun.
