Visits to A&E are a rite of passage for parents I was sitting at my desk typing away when my phone started to ring. The name of my son’s creche popped up on the screen, along with another notification — of an accident report. It’s only happened a handful of times since my son started creche last year.

Once, he walked into a door, another time he had a fall. When I answered the call this time, I found out he was chasing a ball and had hit his head. It’s happened to him before but this time he had vomited three times and I needed to take him to A&E.
