"We registered for season tickets, annual passes, memberships, and subscriptions to museums, theaters, national parks, heritage organizations, sports teams, and symphonies," she said.

"It is so nice to have built-in date nights that we don’t have to pay for, and it’s a great way to explore our city!" And the perks just kept piling up. HOW IT WORKS She explained that most registry services let you link products from other websites.



However, she noted that it depends on how the membership is listed by the organization. "If it was listed as a traditional product, we could link it to our registry the same way we linked dishes and towels," she said. " Our wedding cost just 3k - we hired an Airbnb & ordered Domino’s, we didn’t want to get married with loads of fuss She and her husband registered for 12 memberships in total. When it came to which activities had to be listed as funds versus product links, she said it was about a 50/50 ratio. It all came down to how the membership purchase product was "structured behind the scenes on the organization’s website.

" She equated the registry process to purchasing a gift card. "It is just a normal product added to your basket the normal way, and sometimes you have to go through a separate check-out process," she said. FANS OF THE FUN Other Redditors were impressed by the registry idea.
