A PUNTER couldn’t believe her luck when she managed to snag a brand new sofa worth £700 - for less than £70. The furniture store knocked off a staggering £620.10 from the price because it was “missing some fixings”. Lauren headed to her local store on Saturday and snapped up the sofa within minutes of seeing the post on social media.



She told The Sun: “My first reaction was I need to go and get it now, I told my boyfriend and I was out the door in five minutes.” Lauren said she was “amazed” when staff showed her the luxury green sofa, and her receipt shows she only paid £68.90 for the plush couch.

She said: “It’s the best bargain I’ve ever got and I’m a big bargain hunter, it was the right place at the right time, it all happened for a reason.” The 27-year-old even found a thrifty way of getting the item back home, saving on delivery fees by wheeling it back on a trolley. It was in two parts. “We were balancing it on a shopping trolley, took one piece back and came and took the other. It wasn’t that bad, all we needed to do was cross one road and I was home.

” Lauren was also quickly able to put the sofa together despite the missing fixings. “There were four screws missing for a leg on the sofa, just regular screws. “I managed to pick some up and put it together.

She said: “I posted it on my story and my inbox has been flooded. Everyone is messaging me asking me where I can get it from.

” Dunelm has multiple community support groups around the country on Facebook, where eager shoppers can stumble across discount deals in store. Meanwhile, this comes after the homeware giant slashed its summer prices. Shoppers were able to snap up garden bargains with up to 75 per cent off - with prices starting at just 87p.

Items on sale included a bucket BBQ, a parasol, and a bird house. Other items on sale included a children's chair with parasol for £5 and a decorative grey gazebo for £64.50.
