It is such a tight scramble behind runaway leaders Walsall – with 10th-placed City just three points off second spot.

Walker admits the only thing holding them back is the record on the road. The Bantams have picked up just 10 points from 11 games away from BD8. City clinched a late win at Barrow during their strong finish to last season and the big keeper sees no reason why they cannot do the same.

“We’ve got a great opportunity to go and do that at Barrow and really start the new year in good fashion. “It’s that final piece to get some confidence on the road and continue the excellent home form. “The second half of the season is about the teams that can build momentum, remain consistent and keep important players fit.

Hopefully we’ve been through that patch with the injuries and can really kick on as a squad. “I believe when we’ve got everyone fit, we’ve got the strongest squad in the league. Hopefully we can go on and show that and end t.
