It’s been two long years since it was officially confirmed that a sequel to Will Smith ‘s I Am Legend was in development. Now, we’re finally getting an exciting update. The project follows the story of the actor’s 2007 blockbuster.
It also introduces Michael B. Jordan to the mix. In a new interview, writer and producer Akiva Goldsman shared some news about where the project is at in development.
He also confirmed that Will ‘s character would be appearing onscreen despite the ending of the first movie, where he seemingly died. Keep reading to find out more..
. Akiva promised Deadline that more definitive news would be available “shortly.” As for how Will ‘s character is still alive, he explained that the movie would follow the alternate ending, “where Will lives and things don’t go well for humanity.
” “The world returns in a way that is kind of spectacular – an exciting playground for all of us – not your father’s I Am Legend ,” he added. Things are progressing nicely, with a second draft of the script complete and both actors involved in its creation. We’ll let you know as soon as we hear more.
