This included the mention of the N Vision 74, which has been powered by hydrogen in prototype form but could adopt battery-electric power when it does eventually become available, given it was labelled as a 'high-performance EV' in the presentation.
The N Vision 74 was revealed in 2022 as a futuristic take on Hyundai's Pony coupe concept car from the 1974 Turin motor show, penned by Giorgetto Giugiaro. Hyundai's prototype not only runs on hydrogen – which is converted into electricity in a fuel cell which charges a small battery powering electric motors – but has been driven by automotive media members including . Conflicting reports emerged from South Korea in the following months about whether Hyundai would put the car into production, with the most recent claims coming from newspaper in May, which said it'd go on sale in mid-2026.
The report also claimed Hyundai would build 200 examples for two years from 2026, commanding a premium price of approximately 500 million won each – equivalent to about $550,000. Hyundai has , suggesting it'll drop the concept-based Vision title for production. While the N Vision 74 produced up to 500kW of power and 900Nm of torque, an electric production version could likely ride on Hyundai's E-GMP EV underpinnings.
