Hunt: Showdown 1896 players are not happy about the state of the game right now and Crytek hasn't helped the situation by teasing patch notes for a 'new update' today that's a minor hotfix. The last patch for Hunt: Showdown 1896 was a couple of weeks ago, and managed to reignite the community's enthusiasm for the game after the massive update – and move to Cryengine version 5.11 – didn't quite stick the landing.
The UI has faced the brunt of the backlash, but there have been bugs aplenty as well, and the mix of the two has managed to sour players on the title. But enthusiasm was building again with the 2.01 update that reintroduced the Stlllwater Bayou map back to the game last month.
It's one of the three original maps that were removed from the title for a new engine glow up, with Lawson Delta, and DeSalle maps still to get their makeover. In the wake of that Hunt: Showdown 1896 patch, there were reports of issues impacting PS5 players with DLC and Blood Bond not being visible; while a bunch of skins and items were made invisible across platforms thanks to another bug. As a temporary fix, Crytek announced that it would be disabling these skins and items, and players were expecting today's update to remedy the situation properly, fixing the bugs, and having the items be available in-game.
But no such luck! The 'new update' is a hotfix and the Hunt: Showdown 1896 patch notes are woefully short, not touching on this issue at all. There's no updates on the game's socials ei.
