It's "Augtober" and while temperatures may be sweltering, many popular food and coffee chainsa re rolling out their pumpkin spice fall menus. BRISTOL — Hundreds turned out for Pringle Nature Center’s annual Fall Fun Festival on Saturday. The event, held in Bristol Woods County Park, 9800 160th Ave.

, included hay rides, a seed bomb launch, carnival games face painting, lawn games, live animal demonstrations, children’s crafts, pumpkin painting, bird house painting and food trucks. Live music was be performed by Old Sam & the Teardrops, playing swing jazz tunes. “It’s our annual fundraiser and all funds benefit the nature center,” said environmental educator and organizer Tracy Backhouse.



“We’ve been blessed with beautiful weather.” Backhouse said the event also served as an opportunity to showcase the center’s available all-terrain wheelchair rental program. Access Ability Wisconsin has a couple all-terrain wheelchairs at the center for rent.

The chairs are designed to go up and down hills and overcome obstacles such as snow, ruffage, gravel and sand. “We let anybody try them so kids and adults could give them a try,” Backhouse said. Elizabeth Alvey, the center’s executive director, said she hoped to raise $4,000 dollars.

“We get a nice mix of people out here,” she said. “It’s always a really fun event because we have our whole team here helping out and we get to meet a lot of people from the community.” The event, which also took place on World Migratory Bird Day, included a demonstration with East Troy falconer Ed Foster with northern goshawk Mable.

“I’ve had her since she was 10 days old,” Foster said. “She eats ducks, pheasants, rabbits and quail. She catches them.

S. that offer an exclusive fall-inspired coffee drink menu: McDonald's, Starbucks, Dunkin', Krispy Kreme, and Einstein Bros. Hers used the ingredients included in a standard order with no substitutions; so if the order defaulted to a certain type of milk, that is what was used for nutritional data.

Hers looked at a medium size for every drink, which is 16 ounces for all but one restaurant. The exception is Dunkin ', which serves 14 ounces in a medium cup. The following categories were used for this ranking: The healthiest drinks had the lowest averages of calories, sugar, fat, and trans fat.

Hers weighted trans fat with a 2x multiplier because of associated health risks such as cardiovascular disease and diabetes.
