THE Smile as been forced to cancel their tour after their guitarist Jonny Greenwood was rushed to hospital. The band, made up of Jonny , Thom Yorke and Tom Skinner, were due to perform around Europe in the coming weeks. But after Jonny was hospitalised due to an infection, they've decided to put it on hold.

The band, which formed in 2020, wrote on Instagram: "A few days ago, Jonny became seriously ill from an infection that need emergency hospital treatment, some of it in intensive care. "Mercifully he is now out of danger and will soon return home. "We have been instructed by the medical team in charge of Jonny's care to cancel all engagements until he has had time to make a full recovery.



"To that end, The Smile tour of Europe in August is cancelled. "Refunds for headline shows will be available for your ticket provider. "We all wish Jonny a speedy recovery.

" They captioned the post: "Some news from The Smile." Fans rushed to the comments section to share their love. One said: "We love you Jonny and wish you a full and speedy recovery! ❤️.

" Another added: "Jonny!!! We love you dude, please be healthy 🤘." "Take care Johnny," a third chimed in. A fourth commented: "HEALING VIBES JONNY!!!" Jonny and Thom are originally from the band Radiohead.

The group formed in 1985, and consisted of the pair with Colin Greenwood, Ed O'Brien and Philip Selway. Some of their best songs include Creep, Paranoid Android and No Surprises. Meanwhile drummer Tom has been in British jazz band Sons of Kemet.

The trio formed during the coronavirus lock down and made their first stage appearance during Glastonbury 2021. They've released two studio albums - A Light for Attracting Attention and Wall of Eyes. Some of their singles include Friend of a Friend, Bending Hectic and Pana-vision.
