Saturday, January 25, 2025 Thailand has announced plans to roll out a digital arrival card for foreign visitors starting May 1. This new initiative, which will impact travelers arriving by air, land, or sea, will replace the current paper-based TM6 form. This move comes as the country seeks to improve its immigration processes, enhance security, and encourage tourism growth.

The introduction of the digital form is seen as a significant step forward, aligning with Thailand’s broader goals of modernizing the travel experience and addressing global concerns over safety and security. The Introduction of the Digital TM6 Form The Ministry of Tourism and Sports of Thailand confirmed that all foreign travelers, regardless of their visa status, will be required to submit the digital TM6 form online. This form, which collects essential personal details, passport information, and the traveler’s address in Thailand, will be mandatory for anyone visiting the kingdom.

This new digital procedure is set to replace the traditional paper form that has been in use for years. The government emphasized that the digital form would be free to submit, meaning there would be no added costs for travelers. The main objective of this transition is to streamline the arrival process and make the immigration procedure faster and more efficient.

While the TM6 form will be required for all foreign travelers, it will not apply to Thai passport holders, who are exempt from the new system. According to repo.
