S cottish style is basking in the design spotlight. Earlier this year V&A Dundee hosted an exhibition dedicated to tartan with 300 objects charting the evolution of the pattern, from the very tartan worn by Bonnie Prince Charlie to the high fashion designs of Vivienne Westwood and Alexander McQueen. Then in June Dior hosted its star-studded Cruise 2025 event in the grounds of Drummond Castle in Perthshire (used as the set for the Gardens of Versailles in the television series Outlander ).
Beyond the kilts appearing on the catwalks of Emilia Wickstead and Burberry, the style set are loving the fashion label Damson Madder’s plaid-tastic patterns and the sell-out tartan scarfs by the Scandi brands Acne and Ganni, while the interiors crowd rave about the King’s.
