The show documented the highs and lows of the road to stardom as told by Abby Lee Dance Company's Junior Elite Competition Team.

Throughout the series, the girls and their doting mothers travelled week after week to show-stopping dance competitions. And when the girls weren't competing on stage, they were competing against each other – fighting for solos and their chance to stay at the top of the pyramid while training at the prestigious Abby Lee Dance Company (ALDC). Fan favourites Kendall Vertes, Kalani Hilliker and JoJo Siwa auditioned and joined the cast in Seasons 2, 4 and 5 respectively. In November 2023, the original Dance Moms cast teased the "biggest reunion of the century". Fan-favourites JoJo Siwa, Chloe Lukasiak and Kendall Vertes were joined by their former co-stars to announce the exciting news in a video online.

"✨You heard it here first✨," captioned the official Dance Moms Instagram post. "The squad is back together for a #DanceMoms reunion coming 2024." The reunion, now airing, features both dancers and mums from the iconic series reuniting to talk about the favourite moments, worst moments and everything in between.

"What about Nia, Maddie and Kenzie?," asked one hopeful follower, while another said: "Where's Maddie and Kenzie? It's not a squad Reunion without them." Both Kendall and JoJo addressed the questions and confirmed Maddie, Kenzie and Nia would not be involved.

"For everyone wondering about the few people missing, Everyone was invited today but only some wanted to be here🤍," commented JoJo in response. "So the six girls who are here, we decided to come," added Kendall. While it wasn't the full reunion fans were hoping for, Maddie, Kenzie and Nia did reunite with their co-stars days prior to celebrate Paige's birthday.

Nia's mum Dr. Holly, who appeared in seven seasons of the competitive dance series, shared the fun snaps to her Instagram. "Some may call it a reunion .

.. but we call it a surprise birthday party for Paige!!! Happy 23rd Birthday Paige!!We love you!❤️," she captioned the photos.
