The North Creek Ski Bowl Lodge, an event and restaurant space that will open in fall 2025, and the ZipCoaster, an enhanced zipline ride through Gore Mountain to open in spring 2026, are both expected to headline Gore’s summer tourism push. Both summer attraction projects are supported by the New York State Olympic Regional Development Authority (ORDA), with the purpose of becoming a year-round tourism hub and drawing more economic activity to the Village of North Creek. ORDA and Gore Mountain held a public presentation for Johnsburg and North Creek residents on Tuesday, Nov.

12 at the Tannery Pond Community Center to discuss these goals. “The goal from the beginning has always been to bring more skiers, more summertime attraction closer to Main Street. That’s the goal,” said James “Bone” Bayse, Gore Mountain General Manager.



“It was almost eight years ago that we were ready to get going on this project—to put this lodge in, put in a new lift, put in a summer attraction,” Bayse said. Jim Siplon, President of the Warren County EDC, compared Gore Mountain’s summer potential to Camelback Resort in Pennsylvania, which transformed from a winter-only ski resort to a year-round destination by upgrading its facilities with a water park, zip lines, and wave pool. In 2003, Gore Mountain began to collaborate with the Town of Johnsburg to increase those efforts.
