As plans gather pace for this year's Christmas plans in Newcastle, booking has also opened for the city centre's newly-revealed attractions which include Santa visits; an elf grotto and North Pole igloos alongside the popular MoosenWirt pop-up bar which is making a return. The return of MoosenWirt already has been announced along with news of plans for a bigger Christmas village set-up than last year, around the Monument and Old Eldon Square and extending to Grey Street and Grainger Street. It also has been revealed that the festive celebrations will get under way in the city centre with the switch-on of the Christmas lights on November 12 which will be followed up by the launch of the Christmas Market on November 16.

And this year's extras are set to prove a huge new draw, with the likes of a 'North Pole' at Grey's Monument with igloo pods, raised above the surrounding stalls, which will offer a unique and cosy vantage point to enjoy the likes of hot chocolate, prosecco and grazing boards plus views down the iconic Grey Street. Booking is now open for these as well as for a Santa’s Stories tipi in Old Eldon Square, where children will be able to hear Santa read a seasonal Lapland-set tale, and an Elf Workshop and Rockin’ Reindeer stage featuring a five-week programme of festive films, character appearances and craft activities. The MoosenWirt ski-theme tipi, with its open fires, will be free to enter as usual but it also has an Elk Lodge and its own igloos available to h.
