CINCINNATI — Myles Garrett dropped a bombshell on Friday afternoon when he revealed he might want out of Cleveland if the Browns can’t show him a blueprint for winning now after the season. After going 0-16 as the No. 1 overall pick in 2017, Garrett is in no mood for another rebuild heading into his ninth NFL season.
A sure-fire Hall of Famer, Garrett had one thing on his mind coming off his NFL Defensive Player of the Year award in February: the Lombardi Trophy in 2024. He even began the season with a dramatic Super Bowl-hype video, emphasizing that nothing else matters. After studying the superstars of sports over the past few years such as Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant and LeBron James, Garrett adopted the Mamba Mentality and realized that individual goals pale in comparison to championships.
He knows it’s why his friend James took his talents to South Beach: to win the elusive championships that weren’t happening for him in Cleveland.
