Tuesday, January 21, 2025 Record Growth in Stay-Over Arrivals St. Vincent and the Grenadines has witnessed remarkable growth in its tourism sector, marking a 25.6% increase in stay-over arrivals compared to the previous year.

This surge, a 39% increase over the country’s pre-pandemic numbers in 2019, has resulted in the country welcoming over 100,000 stay-over visitors for the first time in its history. This performance places the island among the top achievers in the region in terms of year-on-year growth, with the country’s tourism authority reporting a steady climb in visitor numbers. Factors Behind the Surge The sharp increase in tourism has been attributed to several factors, with a key driving force being a significant rise in airlift.



In the fourth quarter of 2024 alone, four new airlines were introduced to the destination. These included Sunrise, LIAT2020, WINAIR, and JetBlue, with the addition of these carriers notably increasing capacity, especially from major gateways like JFK in New York. This increase in air connectivity has been critical in opening up the destination to a broader range of travelers, making it more accessible and convenient for visitors.

In addition to the expanded airlift, St. Vincent and the Grenadines has also seen growth in its hotel sector. New and expanded accommodations, including the opening of the Sandals St.

Vincent and the Grenadines Resort, Holiday Inn Express & Suites, La Vue Hotel, and Mayah’s Suite, have bolstered the destina.
