By the second quarter of 2024, passenger volumes in these nations have not only rebounded but have also surpassed pre-pandemic levels, reflecting a strong regional appetite for both business and leisure travel. This rapid growth underscores the Middle East’s powerful travel comeback, positioning these countries as key players in the global travel revival.

As Middle Eastern countries experience a remarkable resurgence in travel demand, rising airfare trends have come into focus. At the recent Airports Council International (ACI) Asia-Pacific & Middle East Board Meeting, discussions highlighted how travel in the Middle East has not only bounced back but, in many cases, surpassed pre-pandemic levels. ACI APAC & MID, in collaboration with Flare Aviation Consulting, conducted an extensive study covering approximately 60,000 routes across 19 countries, including Middle Eastern nations, to analyze the impact of this recovery on airfares.
