However, a viral video posted to TikTok and reported on by Newsweek has shown that it is possible to land a plane during seriously heavy rain - in fact, the two pilots featured in the clip manage to do it with style. The video was recorded by a TikTok user called @damailufta , a flight attendant. It shows a Boeing 737 plane landing at Sola Airport near Stavanger, Norway, during some seriously wet weather last month.
Since then it has blown up online , garnering three million views so far and over a thousand comments from impressed viewers. She captioned the one-minute long video: "This was the day I learned that planes have wiper blades." It shows the final descent of the plane as it touches down in heavy rain, with the wiper blades going ten to the dozen as it lands.
In the clip, you can also hear a countdown describing how close the aircraft is getting to the ground, as well as admiring the extensive number of controls that the pilots have to deal with in order to get their passengers safely to their destination .
