Sometimes love shows up when you least expect it and for Lady Gaga, it came courtesy of an unexpected cupid: her mom. The Joker: Folie a Deux star recently spilled the tea on who was behind her whirlwind romance with fiance Michael Polansky and it was not a celebrity pal or Hollywood insider. It was none other than her mother, Cynthia Germanotta, who had a hunch four years ago that she had found the perfect match for her daughter.
“My mom, she said, ‘I just met your husband,’” Gaga recalled during a recent interview. “And I was like, ‘I’m not ready to meet my husband,” she added. While in conversation with Access Hollywood, the actress-singer revealed that at the time, she was understandably cautious.
Having previously been engaged to Christian Carino and Taylor Kinney, she wasn’t exactly rushing. After giving it some thought, Gaga decided to take her mom’s advice and give love another shot. That decision led her to meet Polansky, a businessman who, among his many accomplishments, co-founded the Parker Foundation with Napster co-creator Sean Parker.
“He was at a birthday party at Sean Parker’s house,” Gaga explained. “I went to the party and I met him, and he was just the most amazing man I’d ever met. We talked for, like, three hours, and then I couldn’t find him, but then he called me,” she added.
