It started as a simple idea. We would take the first two weeks off in August and stay in Ireland. I suppose it’s a sign of the times that before Covid, this was called a holiday in Ireland.
Nowadays, many would deem it a staycation. The plan was to go to Wexford town, but the accommodation we wanted – Talbot Suites, an apartment in the centre linked to the Talbot Hotel – was booked out for the first week, due to the Fleadh Cheoil that was taking place. So we decided to stay in Dublin and have some adventures.
