Wednesday, February 5, 2025 Houston Airports is excited to partner with the American Heart Association (AHA) in a shared mission to promote heart health awareness, emphasizing its crucial role in the well-being of travelers, airport staff, and the Houston community. To mark the occasion ahead of National Wear Red Day on February 7, 2025, Houston Airports hosted a special pinning ceremony to honor employees who have championed heart health initiatives. Saba Abashawl, Houston Airports’ Chief External Affairs Officer, has been named a 2025 Woman of Impact by the AHA’s Greater Houston chapter.
This prestigious recognition highlights women who actively raise awareness and drive education on cardiovascular disease, the leading cause of death among women. Abashawl will use her platform over the next nine weeks to advocate for heart health and motivate others to take action. In her role at Houston Airports, she leads global industry relations, government affairs, and community engagement, helping position the city as a premier international gateway.
“Houston Airports is more than a gateway for travelers—we are a part of this community, and heart health affects us all,” said Abashawl. “By joining this campaign, my colleagues and I are reinforcing our commitment to the well-being of our employees, passengers and Houstonians.” The AHA’s Woman of Impact campaign, which launches annually on National Wear Red Day, brings together influential women from across the nation.
