Monday, November 25, 2024 Hotel Bardo, a luxury transformation of Pittsburgh’s Gulf Tower by Left Lane, will redefine upscale hospitality with world-class amenities, opening in summer 2026. Left Lane, a prominent real estate development and design firm known for transforming historic spaces into cultural landmarks, is bringing its Bardo brand to Pittsburgh. The firm, which specializes in boutique hospitality, plans to revitalize the iconic 40-story Gulf Tower – a striking example of Art Deco architecture located in the heart of downtown – into a vibrant mixed-use urban space.
Scheduled to open in summer 2026, Hotel Bardo Pittsburgh will feature 130 rooms and suites, 220 residences, three dining and bar venues, and 10,000 square feet of recreational space, including a kids’ club and golf simulator. With a focus on “modest deco” design, the hotel will highlight the building’s original architectural features. This announcement coincides with a major initiative by Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro to invest $600 million in the revitalization of Downtown Pittsburgh.
Over the next decade, the project will convert office buildings into residential spaces and create new public areas for festivals, art, and green spaces. Hotel Bardo Pittsburgh will add to the city’s luxury accommodation options, joining established hotels like The Oaklander, Omni William Penn Hotel, and The Fairmont. Pittsburgh’s fine-dining scene also promises a memorable experience for visitors, w.
