Here’s a sampling of things we love this week: Head to Racine's Festival Park , Downtown on the lakefront, for another "Hot Harbor Nights" show this evening. Thursdays from 7-10 p.m.

, area bands perform free concerts. The public is invited to "bring your lawn chair and chill in grass next to our beautiful harbor." Beverages are available for purchase, along with offerings from a food truck or two.

We don’t need more reminders that summer is quickly turning to fall — it’s already getting dark by 8 p.m. — but the Pringle Nature Center in Bristol is hosting the aptly named “Summer’s Last Fling!” From 10 a.

m. to 3 p.m.

Saturday, Aug. 31, visitors to Pringle can take part in free, self-guided, family friendly nature activities. The Nature Center is located at 9800 160th Ave.

, inside Bristol Woods County Park. The nature activities will be posted at the front door of the building. No registration is required; come and leave when you like.

31 is National E at Outside Day , and we can’t think of a better way to mark the end of August than by enjoying dinner (or breakfast or lunch or everything) al fresco. Scrambled eggs just taste better when you have to swat away flies. Vector While there’s nothing particularly exciting about starting a new month, we pause to acknowledge the start of September on Sunday.

Not only does this month bring us NFL games that count and the start of another school year, but it also means we have time to enjoy this area’s best (and biggest) attraction. Now that the summer season is fading, grab some of the best weather in Wisconsin and walk, bike, rollerblade or just sit and relax along the Lake Michigan shore. Racine and Kenosha have beautiful parks and beaches along Lake Michigan.

Go out and discover your own favorite spot. Sept. 3 is Skyscraper Day , a time to celebrate those buildings that seem to touch the sky.

Lucky for us, we have one of the best skyscraper destinations in the world nearby. Chicago is a huge draw for architecture fans. Hot spots include the city’s observation decks, Skydeck Chicago and 360 Chicago.

Skydeck is located in the Sears Tower (or Willis Tower, for you purists). Skydeck includes The Ledge, a glass box that hovers 1,353 feet in the air from the facade of the building. Over at the (former) John Hancock Center at 875 N.

Michigan Ave. is Tilt, an enclosed platform that tilts you out — and over — Michigan Avenue at a staggering 1,030 feet. You can also gaze up at the tall buildings by taking an architecture cruise on the Chicago River.

However you celebrate Skyscraper Day, remember to look up! Starbucks' Pumpkin Spice Latte is officially back. Can autumn be far behind? We held off as long as we could, but it’s officially Pumpkin Spice Season. Expect to see the popular flavor in every form, from Starbucks’ Pumpkin Spice Lattes to pumpkin spice doughnuts.

You can also find Pumpkin Spice Oreo cookies, pumpkin spice cookie dough, pumpkin spice coffee creamer ...

and on and on and on. Instead of fighting this pumpkin spice pandemonium, we choose to embrace it. In fact, we smell some pumpkin spice pancakes right now! Grab the syrup.
