A local rotary club has raised more than £1,000 for a vital Bolton service. Outgoing president of Horwich Inner Wheel, Evelyn Whitney, chose Bolton Mountain Rescue as her charity to support during her year in office. To mark the end of her tenure, the rotary club held a fundraising event for the volunteer-led emergency service, raising a total of £1,500.

The event was attended by members, guests and friends. "A fundraising event was organised and Mark Scott, from Bolton Mountain Rescue team, spoke to us about various equipment and the events and incidents in which they are involved.



"The afternoon was a great success, attended by members, guests and friends and raised the fantastic sum of £1500 which was presented by President Evelyn to Mark at the June meeting.".
