PlayStation has officially revealed its leaked remaster for Horizon Zero Dawn. Dubbed Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered, the newly enhanced re-release brings back Aloy’s debut adventure with some minor enhancements. Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered revealed Coming to PlayStation 5 and PC, the new remastered version of Aloy’s first adventure will include newly motion captured scenes for the game’s dialogue.

Available to upgrade from the current PS4 game for just $9.99, the game aims to make the game look just like its sequel Forbidden West. This means that players will benefit from the sequel’s advanced lighting and shadows system, more advanced foliage and other visual additions.

The game will also feature an enhanced framerate compared to the game’s PS4 game which was locked at 30FPS. As one of PlayStation’s worst kept secrets, alongside the recently announced PS5 Pro, Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered’s existence has already been largely criticised. In fact, we’ve also had a go at critiquing the remaster’s existence as it already looked phenomenal on PS4.

However, as with The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered, Sony is continuing to fund remasters of its already great looking games. Hopefully, this trend will stop sometime soon. This won’t go down well on PC With the PC game’s recent release and the system’s swathe of mods available for Horizon Zero Dawn already, the news of the game’s remaster likely won’t go down well.

As Sony charges for what many PC gamers, and even console gamers, would consider a free upgrade, we can’t imagine anyone being happy. Nevertheless, Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered launches on PlayStation 5 and PC on October 31, 2024..
