The listing looks to confirm the heavily rumoured remaster, which was only further alluded to after the removal of Horizon Zero Dawn from the PlayStation Plus subscription service . But do players need such a remaster? Horizon Zero Dawn remains one of the best-looking games on the PlayStation 4, previously receiving an update for the PlayStation 5 in 2021, providing visual improvements across the board.

In addition, the title is already available on Windows PC via Steam , sporting enhanced visual fidelity compared to its console counterparts. With this in mind, expecting players to pay for a remaster might seem too big of an ask. The current dilemma feels similar to Naughty Dog’s The Last of Us Part 1 remake , which drew criticism when it was released for the PlayStation 5 in 2022.

Players voiced frustration about paying full price for the title, especially when a remaster was already available on the PlayStation 4. Guerrilla Games has not officially announced the Horizon Zero Dawn remaster, but further updates about the game will likely arrive shortly. In the meantime, players can expect the usual upgrades to the game befitting of the PlayStation 5 era, such as DualSense Controller features and upgraded visuals.
