These strategic measures underscore the government’s commitment to enhancing Hong Kong’s role as a premier international aviation hub, with policies that aim to attract more passenger and cargo traffic, ultimately driving economic growth. The Policy Address emphasized the completion of the much-anticipated three-runway system (3RS) at Hong Kong International Airport, which the Airport Authority Hong Kong is expected to finalize this year.
This critical infrastructure enhancement is projected to increase the airport’s capacity by an impressive 50% by 2035.
