Homes Under the Hammer: Team inspects run down Scotland home BBC star Martel Maxwell was disappointed when she entered a dilapidated cottage in Dalry which is a small town an hour from Glasgow, Scotland during Thursday’s instalment of Homes Under the Hammer . The 47-year-old was heard saying that she was “overwhelmed” by the amount of dampness that infested the walls. The presenter was left speechless when she stepped foot into the property after it was left in a “state of disrepair”.
She explained that: “The auction was not lying when it said in the brochure that this was a project, as it is in a complete state of disrepair.” It had a guide price of £29,000 which reflected the urgency of gutting the home and dealing with issues like mould and flooding in the downstairs, as well as installing central heating, while also replacing the walls which had multiple holes in them. However, she quickly shared that she was hopeful that the abode could be transformed with the right maintenance.
The 2-bedroom home was split over three floors and boasted huge potential. Martel shared: “You know me I like to end on a high. The space outside, if you look out the window I can see the garden, it’s a good sized garden.
