A popular venue for weddings and other celebrations has been given a makeover to 'provide a more comfortable and memorable experience for guests'. The Cloisters suite in The Holiday Inn in Bolton town centre was officially relaunched this month by Bolton Mayor Cllr Andy Morgan, who cut the ribbon in front of assembled guests. The refurbished Cloisters is set in the former St Mary’s Roman Catholic church dating back to AD1512 when King Henry VIII was on the throne with majestic arches and stained glassed windows it has been described as a 'breath-taking unique space'.

Branded to a Holiday Inn in 2006 under the IHG Franchise agreement – the hotel underwent an extensive refurbishment 2021/2022 with the owners spending over £3 million. Nicola Hunt said: "The team aimed to honour its legacy while bringing it up to modern standards, ensuring it remains a top choice for events of all kinds in Bolton. "The hotel now has an upgraded space that combines classic elegance with contemporary style.



"The new décor, improved lighting utilising those huge windows, and enhanced facilities are designed to provide a more comfortable and memorable experience for guests. "The QMH hotel was originally opened back in 1991 by Bolton Wanderers Legend Nat Lofthouse – the cost of the build was around £9 million of the 132 bedrooms 12 conference rooms. "The Cloisters is not just a venue, but a place where lasting memories be made.
