A LIDO in the UK is said to be the only one of it's kind in the country - and you can book cheap tickets for the summer. Lido Ponty is the National Lido of Wales, dating back to 1927. It was upgraded back in 2015 following a £6.

3m restoration project through the Welsh government. The Grade II listed lido has three heated swimming pools - the main pool , activity pool and splash pool - with temperatures around 28C. Around the pools are also sun loungers and a terrace, where you can book spectators tickets if you aren't going for a swim.



It won't breat the bank either - adult tickets are £3 and people under 16 years are free (aside from booking fees). There is even an inflatable obstacle course, which is an extra £2.50 There is the on-site Waffle House, serving both sweet and savoury waffles as well as kids meals and drinks.

If you don't fancy getting wet, there is the Adventure Play Area too. Lido Play has swings, slides and tunnels for kids to explore. And summer tickets are set to launch.

Tickets up until July 30 are already on sale, while from July 22, swimmers can book tickets up until August 14. The website states: "This historical family attraction is the only one of its kind in Wales and is Wales’ premier outdoor pool attraction and adventure play park." Previous visitors have raved about the pool too.

One said: "I've been taking my children here for years and we loved it." Another wrote: "A great day out. Wanted to stay longer.

Value for money ." A third agreed: "This place is such a gem! Came with my 12 and 9 year olds and they both absolutely loved it." The UK isn't short of amazing outdoor swimming pools - some of which even look like they are abroad.

Shoalstone Seawater Pool in Brixham is said to look like Bondi Iceburgs in Australia, being built into the cliffs. Kent's The Strand Lido in Gillingham has been compared to Greece because of its bright blue and white design. And a lido in London is said to have similar vibes to that of Tenerife.
