MACKINAC ISLAND, MI - A slice of Bavaria is coming to Mackinac Island this fall. The island version of Oktoberfest will become “Macktoberfest” from Oct. 11-13 with the historic Island House Hotel as its home base.

“Get ready for a Bavarian bash like no other as Macktoberfest returns to Mackinac Island,” Island House staff said. “Macktoberfest is a one-of-a-kind celebration that brings the spirit of Bavaria to the enchanting Mackinac Island.” Island House is offering a special Macktoberfest package that includes event highlights like the keg-tapping, a dinner buffet and open bar, round-trip ferry tickets and a souvenir beer stein.

Find more details on that package on the resort’s website here. Want an extra-special deal? Guests who book the Macktoberfest package before Aug. 1 will get $75 in dining credits.

Todd Callewaert, president of Island House Hotel, said he wanted to bring Oktoberfest to Mackinac after experiencing that fun atmosphere in Germany. “That’s how Macktoberfest came to be,” Callewaert said. “It’s the perfect combination of the spirit of Oktoberfest and the unique charm of Mackinac.

We’re gearing up for our third Macktoberfest, which has become Mackinac Island’s biggest Oktoberfest celebration. “It’s a fantastic chance for everyone, both locals and visitors, to come together, enjoy great food, music, and have a good time in this beautiful setting.” Mackinac Island's own slice of Bavaria will be celebrated this fall at Macktoberfest at Island House Hotel.
