Himachal Pradesh has unveiled a plan to develop Gobind Sagar Lake as a major tourist destination, drawing inspiration from the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. According to Deputy Commissioner Abid Hussain Sadik of Bilaspur, the plan was announced during his inspection of Jeori-Pattan area, where a major island is set to be transformed into a tourist hub. Sadik stressed that the initiative is to revitalise tourism in the region and showcase the lake's natural beauty.

"This project aims to position Bilaspur as a key tourism center, offering visitors a one-of-a-kind experience," Sadik said, according to PTI. In line with the Andaman and Nicobar Islands model, plans include water sports, camping, and cultural activities to create a vibrant tourist attraction, he added. The project will feature several key attractions and amenities for visitors.



Eco-friendly camping sites will be set up in Jeoripattan, where guests can enjoy bonfires, traditional music, and a lively atmosphere at night. Additionally, nature trails and hiking routes will be developed around the lake, providing opportunities for exploration, the DC shared.
