Himachal Pradesh's Bilaspur is taking a giant leap in tourism as it is introducing parasailing at the picturesque Govind Sagar Lake. According to officials, a leading Delhi-based company, which is currently operating in Tehri, has been invited to conduct trial operations for the same. Deputy Commissioner Bilaspur Aabid Hussain Sadiq, in a statement, said that the company will bring its parasailing boats to Bilaspur in the first week of December.

During this period, a technical committee of experts will oversee the activities. Following that, based on the trial reports, the District Regulation Committee will decide on granting permission for permanent operations. If the trials are successful, parasailing will permanently be added to the lake's attractions.

Formal permits will be issued and there will be a structured framework for operations. Govind Sagar Lake, which is already a favorite destination for tourists with its cruise rides and shikara boating, will offer a thrilling experience for adventure enthusiasts after parasailing is launched. It is also expected to increase the number of tourists in the region.

Also, this initiative aims to elevate Bilaspur’s reputation as a hub for water sports. The Deputy Commissioner said, "Given the natural beauty and tourism potential of Govind Sagar Lake, our aim is to make Bilaspur a prominent center for water tourism and introducing parasailing activities would be a significant step in this direction."
