The mystery drama High Country, featuring a few recognisable faces, is set to grace our screens this weekend. The plot of this Australian TV series centres around detective Andrea (Andie) Whitford, who finds herself relocated to the Victorian High Country, tasked with solving the enigma of five individuals who have mysteriously disappeared into the wilderness. Her investigation leads her through a labyrinth of murder, deceit and revenge, providing viewers with some nail-biting moments.

After gaining popularity on streaming platforms Binge and Showcase, the series will now be broadcast on BBC One. The Mirror reports how the cast includes Leah Purcell, known for her role in Wentworth, Ian McElhinney from Game of Thrones and Derry Girls, Sara Wiseman of Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes fame, and Aaron Pedersen, who featured in Mystery Road. While the cast may not be widely recognised internationally, High Country could potentially catapult them into the limelight for British and international audiences.
